A new district centre

CZWG has been appointed by Ashbourne Beech Property ltd and ASDA to develop improved proposals for the creation of a new District Centre for the Isle of Dogs.

The scheme will provide homes, shops and community facilities for those who live in the local area.

Planning permission was granted for the redevelopment of the Asda site as a District Centre for the Isle of Dogs in 2014.
Public Consultation

Revised plans are now being proposed for the redevelopment of the site including a new ASDA store, a 630 pupil primary school, a nursery for 60 children, an arts space, a multipurpose community space, improved retail space, better connections to the local area, and an increase in the number of homes provided on the site.

With a planning permission already in place, the focus is that the District Centre works better for both existing and future residents of the Isle of Dogs.

The revised plans will be subject to public consultation in March and April. We held community workshop sessions on the proposals on 17/18 March and the information boards that were on display can be viewed here.

A public exhibition was held in Café Forever on the 21st and 22nd April 2017, the presentation boards displayed at the event can be viewed here.
